Comm-IT developed an innovative platform for malls to beat Amazon

Comm-IT, Israel’s leadings ystems house, developed MallUp, an innovative technology which services malls,helping them overcome the competition from Amazon by revolutionizing customer service and by providing real-time analytics to mall managers.

MallUp makes the entire mall accessible for online shopping from stores around the clock, displaying the on-shelf inventories of all the mall’s stores in one app. This platform allows customer to peruse any store’s wares in real-time and in great detail-models, colors, sizes and prices, according to personal preference – buy them easily via their mobile device and either have them home-delivered or collect them from a designated pick-up site at the mall.

For mall visitors, MallUp provides a social interface for sharing information with friends who are at the mall as well as a user-friendly navigational system which offers the fastest and most efficient path according to your shopping list.

For mall managers, MallUp provides a comprehensive solution for tracking purchas ingtrends in the mall with analysis tools that provide insights that allow efficient decision making. The platform also produces information and recommendations for proper management of the mall’s store mix, correct timing of events according to maximal ROI, seasonal purchasing and routine activities,such as analyzing ‘hot’ vs. ‘cold’ areas, with increased or decreased mall traffic, and more.

The project was implemented for RTDS over the course of one year at a cost of three million dollars. Development of the end-to-end platform ranged from platform characterization, through architecture, product design and user interface design, to advanced Big Data and Artificial Intelligence technologies. The project was executed in Comm-IT's unique Flexible R&D model, in which the company provided flexibility in both the mix and the number of experts according to the changing and emerging project needs, thus enabling fullcontrol of budget and schedules.
